Traveled from Miami to Austin TX for my first SXSW experience. Connected with old partners, linked up with new ones and helped run a successful event. Here is a recap of #NoBigDealSXSW with A3C, Erace The Hate, and Reebok. Performances featured Mick Jenkins, Nick Grant, Hefna Gwap, and more. All hosted by Virginia’s own MicxSic. Thanks to all who came out.
Stay on the lookout for Erace The Hate content, with their #LegalizePeace campaign in full kick off, there’s about to be new gear, music and scholarship opportunities.
After a year of collaboration and exploration, it’s time to start rolling out the new material. ‘Blvd Knights’ is the first single off the upcoming ‘Chronicles’ project, due out early 2016. The track features DMV emcee $avoy and production from Milwaukee standout originalvision. Just a taste of things to come, enjoy.
Over the past year I have had the privilege of working with some incredibly talented youth through my work with The Motivational Edge. As an instructor, it has been my job to develop young artists and help them discover themselves as musicians and human beings.
The Young Visionaries, is a collective of students who’ve shown incredible dedication and maturation throughout the program. They have just released their debut mixtape 20/20 which I am proud to say I had a hand in curating, conceptualizing and even featuring on. These young men are destined for great things, this is only the beginning.
My students from the Art of Creative Writing and Lyrical Expression at The Motivational Edge helped to conceive and star in this video directed by Sherill-Marie Henriquez of The Krane Theater Company. The students really lead the creative direction of this video and turned out a clean, original product. Catch the video and the surprise guest star.
Too SLIC: Degeneration is now available for download. At times cynical and delinquent at others poignant and critical, “Too SLIC” addresses the concerns and realities of living in a state of Degeneration. Bask in the soundscape and rage in the decay–this is the soundtrack to the end of days.
Higher Education Records presents the return of SLIC (Some Like It Cold, Self-Loathing Inspired Children) the collaborative effort of vagabond emcee Cold Medina and rapper/producer/instrumentalist Airo Kwil.
